I know it may be hard to believe that poor food management is self-hate. Allow me to sound like a preacher for a minute. However, it will also help all of you gain a little more insight on why our program is the perfect virtual wellness program for church organizations.

Let's use the bible as our resource. Genesis 3 is a description of the Fall of Man, where we quickly learn that the wrong food choice was the original sin.
Genesis 3:3 NIV

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” 2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’” 4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. 8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” 10 He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.” 11 And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?

The first time you choose poorly is ignorance. REPETITIVE poor choices, however, is REBELLION REBELLION is ANGER. Have you ever met a happy, rebellious teen? However, REPETITIVE rebellion is SELF ABUSE, because rebellion leads to death. How do we know? God said on or around page 3 of your bible, depending on how large the print? Genesis and the entire OLD testament is about Rebellion and obedience. The new testament is about love. Thus, God knew this would be our achilles heel. Learning how to LOVE SELF and then OTHERS. Repetitive poor food choices, therefore, can't be about anything else but self-loathing or a lack of self-love, because why else would you repetitively and voluntarily lead yourself to death? While physical death is certain, that is not the only thing one is inviting. You are inviting misery and slow, painful deaths: diabetes, inflammation, life-threatening infections, hearts that explode via heart attacks and brains that explode via strokes. That is NOT God, that is the consequence of REPETITIVELY giving into the temptations. NO religion on earth permits or condones eating anything and everything as long as it tastes good. EVERY religion, be it Muslim, Buddhists, Jewish have limitations on what one can and cannot eat. So, then why are Christians struggling so with being told that certain foods are simply off limits? A Muslim does not sabotage their diet by eating pork. This is because they have committed that they will not eat pork. It is simply not a temptation any longer. This is where most of you are not. You have not even made the decision that you certain foods and rink you will NEVER touch. Alcoholics in recovery have made the same decision. And so must "Foodies".

I know it may be hard to believe that poor food management is self-hate. Allow me to sound like a preacher for a minute and assist the reader to gain a little more understanding on why our program is a popular and effective wellness program for church organizations, that is 100% virtual and can be offered in any church within the US.

The other dynamic driving REPETITIVE bad food choices is the struggle for dominance. Thus, it is more accurate to say that a "foodie" is addicted to CONTROL, versus the food per se. Yes, certain foods are highly addictive. There is no question that sugar and carbohydrates fall into that category. However, a complete theory of overeating must be able to explain the issue of NOT eating or meal skipping, so prevalent among people who are overweight or obese. Thus, EMOTIONAL OVEREATING then becomes a meaningless term, because much of the time the foodie is skipping their meals. However, this makes the term ADDICT as it realtes to poor food management equally confusing and not credible unless one seeks to understand the food addiction within the context of control and rebellion. You see, the "foodoie" whether they eat or don't eat is exercising control, over other people, places and things. Contrast this to the addiction to alcohol, or meth, or cocaine or any other substance, including gambilng, the addict who uses these "drugs" of choice will never SKIP. Thus, it follows that the foodie is not addicted so much to the food, as they are to the right to place food or not place food in their mouth. Their true goal, just like the bible says, is to be "like GOD".
Genesis 3:5
"For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." NIV
A foodie then, is essentially a control freak! If you doubt this, just ask their spouse, a past or current significant other!!!!
